Where do I begin?
The inexplicably bad driving or the passive-aggressive conformity that must be seen to be believed?
One of my softball teammates said it best (he's from NY, so go figure): Seattle needs to stop pretending it's a small town.
Many of the postings on here talk about how the locals keep behaving like assholes because no one calls them out on their bullshit. Absolutely true.
But how about this one? What the fuck is up with the staring? I'm not a paranoid conspiracy theorist, but Seattleites stare like motherfuckers. They stare so much that, if they were in NY or LA, they'd be shot. Was everyone here raised in a barn? Most parents teach their kids that staring is fucking rude...but not in Seattle. Apparently, it's some sort of frigid nordic/lumberjack mating ritual. And, once again, if you call them out on it by saying something (or, heaven forfend, staring back), they passive-aggressively look away or start yelling at YOU. God forbid if any third parties are present because they'll look at you (nay stare?) like you're Ted Bundy (or Gary Ridgway, both from WA state). Once again, if you call people here out on their bullshit, YOU'RE the asshole. How the fuck did that happen? Any other city in the country, and it's the exact opposite.
It's really too bad too because I otherwise like living in the northwest. The weather doesn't bother me, but the people here (esp Seattle) are reprehensible, and that is not a word I use lightly.
