For the city ranking obsessed: Seattleites ranked Least attractive
I laugh at how the Seattle pathos dictates that the local denizens mention vaguely that Seattle ranks among the "most literate," or "most polite," cities in the country.
I consider those rankings to be utter bullshit based on things like: "Most literate" only counts the number of bookstores, libraries and periodicals in circulation, etc. It does not denote quality of literature or how often people actually read. Personally, I think that, for the average Seattle muppet, a book is more of a face shield to avoid making eye contact with others than it is a source of intellectual gratification.
"Third most polite" -- yes, there was actually an article in the Seattle times about this. Apparently, an octogenarian etiquette snob rated Seattle third most polite city in some book she wrote. I guess she didn't stick around here very long when making her assessment
However, here's one I think we can all agree on: Seattle ranks as one of the cities with the least attractive people according to Travel and Leisure magazine.
Finally, one of these rankings actually aligns with empirical evidence.
