I Hate Seattle

Raising my commercial rent

Default-member

Yesterday the owner of our building sent out a letter indicating that any improvements required under the Seattle Department of Development's ruling enacted by City Council bill number 116731, which requires bulding owners to measure, disclose and seek a 20% reduction in energy use, will be paid for my the tenants.
This is government mandating owners to spend money on paper work to support the city's agenda. And penalize them if they don't follow the mandate.
Public comment is quietly taking place, protest now.
This is another example of your tax money being wasted for self seeking politicians.
City Light has a budget of $20 M a year for energy efficiency, and has been the case since 1977. We do not need another waste of tax payer money that does nothing but place burdons on struggling property owners.
In the end tenants pay the freight!
Say NO to this waste! Complain to DPD, call 684-7846 and tell them you are against this waste.
